A full day school held at Rewley House (just behind the Ashmolean Museum). A series of illustrated talks including a look at the historical use of plants in medicine but also how they are still used in modern medicine. The course will concentrate on a number of important plant chemical groups such as the alkaloids, essential oils, tannins, coumarins and bitters and will attempt to show the modes of action of these plant chemicals in the human body.
